Málaga Food News: 1st Torrox Ruta De Tapa & Cocktails 2026: Dates, Bars & What to Expect
Torrox is set to launch an exciting new gastronomic event in 2026 with the first-ever Tapas and Cocktail Route, combining two of the best things about eating out on the Costa del Sol: creative tapas and expertly mixed drinks.
Running from 15 April to 3 May 2026, this brand-new route brings together venues across Torrox Costa, El Morche, and Torrox Pueblo, offering visitors the chance to explore the town one tapa—or cocktail—at a time.
What Makes This Route Different?
Unlike traditional rutas de la tapa, this event introduces a dual concept:
* Some venues focus on tapas
* Others specialise in cocktails
* Several offer both, creating a more diverse and modern food experience
It’s a great evolution of the classic format, reflecting how the local food scene continues to grow and adapt.
Participating Venues
A total of 12 establishments are taking part in this first edition, spread across different areas of Torrox:

* Passport collection: 1 April – 10 April 2026
You can pick up your ruta passport (entry form) at any of the participating venues during the collection period.
How It Works
The format follows the classic Andalusian “ruta” style:
1. Visit participating bars and restaurants
2. Order the tapa or cocktail created for the event
3. Collect stamps in your passport
4. Complete the route and submit your entry
Expect prizes, voting, and a friendly competition between venues.
A Route Across Torrox
One of the highlights of this event is how it connects the different parts of the municipality:
* Torrox Costa – beachside tapas and cocktails along the promenade
* El Morche – a more local, laid-back coastal vibe
* Torrox Pueblo – traditional white village atmosphere
This makes it more than just a food event—it’s a mini tour of Torrox itself.
Why You Should Go
With Torrox’s famous reputation for having the “best climate in Europe”, this springtime route is the perfect excuse to:
* Enjoy terraces and sea views
* Discover new local spots
* Try creative food and drink at accessible prices
* Experience the social side of Andalusian dining

Final Thoughts
The 1st Torrox Tapas and Cocktail Route 2026 is a fresh and welcome addition to the Axarquía’s food calendar. By combining tapas with cocktails, it offers something a little different—perfect for both food lovers and those just looking for a great atmosphere.
If this first edition is a success, it could easily become one of Torrox’s must-attend annual events.
